Chelsea skipper John Terry has accepted his dismissal as England captain.

The Chelsea defender was replaced by Rio Ferdinand yesterday after a 12-minute meeting with boss Fabio Capello at Wembley.

And he has revealed he will fight to keep his place in the Three Lions squad for this summer's World Cup.

In a short statement released this afternoon, Terry said: "I fully respect Fabio Capello's decision.

"I will continue to give everything for England."
